John S. Kent earned his graduate degree in Bionucleonics from Purdue University in 1976. For the past 36 years he has worked as a clinical medical physicist in the Radiation Oncology Department at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics, a Fellow of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine and a Fellow in Physics of the American College of Radiology. John is the recipient of the 2009 Gold Metal award from the Indiana Radiological Society.
He began his service to the American Institute of Physics in 1996 as a member of the Investment Advisory Committee and has served as chair since 2003. John served on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Physicist in Medicine for two consecutive terms (1993-1998). His service to the American College of Radiology includes twenty-one years of appointments to various committees. He is also an examiner for the American Board of Radiology.
John is interested in the question “is consciousness in the brain or is the brain in consciousness”.
