Chip Calhoun, Digital Archivist

As we head into fall, we'll be looking at more of what goes on in the archives.

Chip Calhoun - Into the Stacks of the Niels Bohr Library & ArchivesI’m Chip Calhoun, Digital Archivist at the Niels Bohr Library & Archives. I’ve been here since the summer of 2010. Before that I spent 3 years as a contractor at the Government Accountability Office, where I worked on library scanning projects, database design, and a bit of records management. At the Niels Bohr Library & Archives I'm responsible for our information systems, including the library catalog software and a couple of homegrown databases. I write the code underneath resources like the new Physics History Network and the finding aids for our archives collections. I also handle our electronic records, and I help to prepare our paper records for researchers and to put them online. Outside of work I devote most of my time to my two kids.

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter at @AIPhistory. This month I'll take you under the hood of our electronic resources, and show you some of the new material we're putting online.
