Sean McEnroe, Photograph Collections Assistant

Thank you for joining me this month at Emilio Segrè Visual Archives. I hope you have enjoyed a look behind the scenes. Here’s what we explored:

First there was a selection of images from our Thurgood Collection, which are photographs and letters donated by the family of Malcom Thurgood, a photographer with the Alsos mission during World War II.

On October 12, we looked behind the scenes at improving metadata for the online photo records.

Third, we looked at adding images from donated after Physics Today runs an obituary. We looked at photographs and links to interviews from the Beranek Collection.

On October 20, we found photos from Ann Arbor Michigan, where Summer Symposiums in Theoretical Physics began in 1928.

Next we went behind the scenes and prepared a presentation for the library by adding captions to a photo and following the link to related oral history interviews.

Finally, we found some photos of Mr. Wizard, who was a pioneer in public science. Physics Today has made the linked articles available free of charge for November.

Thanks for exploring the photo archive with me this month stay in touch with us in November as a new member of the NBLA team takes us behind the scenes!
