Newly appointed director of an atomic energy research establishment to be set up in Britain to develop ZETA is John Bertram Adams - seen here at work at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) near Geneva. The establishment took over the work that was done in this field at Harwell and Aldermaston. Adams took up his appointment toward the end of 1960. Adams was Director of the proton Synchrotron Group of the European Council for Nuclear Research.
