Proton Linear Accelerator Notes

Search for the first beam from proton linear accelerator: Luis Alvarez's 8:30 PM blackboard calculation, dated October 16, 1947, proving that the geometry of the machine must be changed in order to work. An added note at 2:40 PM, 6 hours later, shows that they achieved a 32MEV beam.
