Probing Peaks - Mysterious energy peaks observed in uranium experiments but unexplained for 10 years will be investigated at the APEX facility shown in preparation at Argonne National Laboratory's ATLAS particle accelerator. Argonne's R. Russell Betts (right), and Princeton University's Aksel Hallin lock in magnetic coils contributed by Michigan State Univ. to prepare the vacuum chamber for the experiments by Argonne and seven collaborating universities.
