Willard Boyle, one of three winners of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physics. Boyle and George E. Smith won half of the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physics for the invention of an imaging semiconductor circuit, the CCD sensor. Charles K. Kao received the other half the 2009 prize.
