Lyman Laboratory at Harvard University. Illustrating the effect of pressure in increasing the ductibility of steel. On the left a piece of mild steel broken in tension at atmospheric pressure. On the right the same steel pulled to much greater reduction of area without fracture in a liquid at 25,000 Kg/cm squared.
