This engraving of Dalton's left profile was made by J. Stephenson in 1845 from one of his own original drawings based on the Nicklin daguerreotypes. Scanned from the book "John Dalton and the Atomic Theory; The Biography of a Natural Philospher" by Elizabeth C. Patterson; Published by Anchor Books, Doubleday and Company, Inc., Garden City, New York.
