Among the group of scientists who took part in a discussion on infrared materials at Bausch & Lomb, Rochester, New York, are left to right: Rolfe Glover, Department of Physics, University of North Carolina; E.L. Jossem, Physics Department, Ohio State University; J.A. Payne, Westinghouse Research Laboratories, Pittsburgh; J. DeNobel, Kamerlingh Onnes Laboratories, Leiden, The Netherlands; and John Mattern of Bausch and Lomb who acted as guide for the group.
