New laser concept, called a 'Mini-Face Pumped Laser,' has been developed at the General Electric Research and Development Center to provide a high brightness laser beam in high average power operation. Shown with a developmental model of device called the 'Big Mini-FPL' is Dr. Leonard M. Goldman, one of the group who worked on the project.
