Description: 

(L-R): P. Gerald Kruger and George K. Green, accelerator physicists, examine magnet and coils of 1-million volt cyclotron they built in 1935-36 when Green was graduate student under Kruger at Illinois. This was world's first cyclotron from which a high-energy beam was brought out. Magnet now used in device to analyze beam from University's 12-million volt cyclotron.
