Nobel Laureates greet one of their own at Columbia Symposium -- When Dr. George Beadle, presdient of the University of Chicago and Nobel Prize winner, arrived on the Columbia University campus this week as a sympoium speaker he was greeted by Columbia's president and five Nobel laureates, four of them from Columbia.

A dinner at Columbia for a number of distinguished guests honored Dr. Beadle as the first lecturer inaugurating a seven-month "Symposium on the Relationships Between the Biological and Physical Sciences." Dr. Grayson Kirk, president of Columbia University, was host at the dinner and Dr. Beadle's topic was " Genes, Chemistry and the Nature of Man."

The Nobel laureates were dinner gueats and are shown in the photograph. They are, from left and right, with the dates of Nobel Award and their fields: Dr. Kirk; Dr. Edward Tatum, professor, Rockefeller University, 1958, Medicine and Physiology; Dr. Polykarp Kusch, professor of Physicsm, Columbia, 1955, Physics; Dr. Tsung-Dao Lee, E.
