Superconductivity meeting 'Woodstock of Physics' The American Physical Society (APS) March Meeting of 1987, held in New York City. The significance of this meeting was to announce the development of new, high-temperature superconducting materials. In a single marathon session beginning Wednesday evening, March 18 and lasting until 3:15 AM the next morning a roster of 51 speakers reported on the dramatically improved superconducting properties of a family of ceramic materials.
