Solar globes and maps are "tools of the trade" for Dr. Nancy Roman, head of the Observational Astronomy Program in the Office of Space Sciences at the National Aeronautics and Space Administrations (NASA). She is also Chairman of the Committee on Orbiting Astronomical Observatories. Pictured at the left is an artist's conception of a space platform. It is not a model of what a space station will look like, Dr. Roman emphasizes.
